Diesel is considered to be a worse pollutant than gasoline. Both substances are listed in the carcinogenic substances list, which the Ministry of Health published in the past.
A policy is in place to reduce the use of Diesel , alongside a requirement to use a less polluting type of Diesel fuel.
Following the latest update from the World Health Organization, the Ministry of Health will demand a policy of further reduction in the use of Diesel and/or transition to a cleaner form of Diesel fuel. Responsibility for implementing this policy lies with the Ministry of Transportation and the Ministry of Environmental Protection.
