A person who wishes to practice clinical genetics in Israel must hold a Status Recognition Certificate from the Ministry of Health.
Clinical genetics includes three fields:
- Clinical cytogenetics
- Clinical molecular/biochemical genetics
- Genetic counseling
A person who wishes to receive a Status Recognition Certificate in one of the above professions must meet the knowledge and education requirements, at least two years of training in practical work (internship) and a government licensing examination.
