A person who wishes to practice optometry in Israel must hold a license from the Ministry of Health.
A person who wishes to submit an application for a license to practice optometry must meet the following criteria:
- Completion of optometry pharmacy studies at a recognized institution, and award of a final diploma, or certification of eligibility for a degree or certification from the institute that the studies have been completed and fulfillment of all obligations to the university.
- For graduates from abroad – completion of Internship or, alternatively, a license to practice from overseas and official work permits for the profession, at least one year.
