The Ministry of Health issues approvals, as per the Business Licensing Order, for businesses that are involved with public health such as: swimming pools, restaurants, grocery stores, event gardens, hotels, Mikvehs, wastewater treatment plants, drinking water treatment plants and so on.
The approval is granted to the local authority thatissues business licenses for different businesses in its jurisdiction, taking into account other approving entities (as per the Order).
Within this framework, the Environmental Health Department at the Ministry of Health reviews the licensing application and inspects the businss as per the regulations and guidelines compatible with the business (different businesses have different guidelines).
The department also provides a preliminary opiion (for a fee) to an individual who wishes to check whether the place where he plans to open a business will be suitable to serve as a place of business, according to the law and the regulations.
