Selected Health For All Indicators 2003

Preface
This publication presents Health Indicators in Israel as they have been
presented at the end of the year 2003 to the WHO European area. The purpose
is to update the HFA (Health for All) database that includes indicators
about the health system and the health of the population of each country.

The Health Information Department in the Ministry of Health, which serves
as the focal point for health statistics, annually reports health
indicators to the European desk of the WHO in Copenhagen.
The document deals with new definitions that were defined at the WHO from
the year 2000.
Data collection and updating was made during the year 2003.
Sources of the data include various departments of the Ministry of Health,
the Central Bureau of Statistics, and the National Insurance Institute.
